Join the team
Drupal Europe is organized by volunteers from the community. This includes defining conference outline and workflows, fundraising, ticket sales, communication, developing the website and everything else needed to run a great event. The Drupal Europe team are experienced people in terms of organizing smaller and bigger events, evaluating session proposals and program setup, project management in distributed teams, marketing, website projects of course and much more. The most prominent difference to a DrupalCon is that there is no initial budget.
What do we get in return?
Easy answer: we get the major European Drupal event of the year. It's important for the whole Drupal ecosystem and that is the reason why many people dedicate a lot of effort. We are aware that these individuals and companys should get more visibility because they actually are the biggest sponsors.
How you can help
Most of our volunteers have full time jobs and as much as they would love to, they can’t commit to organising the event full time. Our success so far has been many people picking up small tasks with the focus on great team work. To make our event even better, we would like more great individuals with a little time to spare to help in:
- Program team: (still looking for some track chairs)
- Marketing: Help make noise
- Contribution mentors
- Attendee care
- Speaker care
- Sponsor care
- Tech hands
- Local volunteers
- On-site info screens ...
If you are concerned about not having coding skills and want to contribute, don’t worry we have tasks for everyone. We need various skills such as:
- Communication skills
- Project management: analyze situations, find solutions
- Writing (blog posts, news on social media, workflows ...)
- Illustrating ...
If you have some free time to space and want to become part of the biggest Drupal conference in Europe this year, join us as a volunteer.

Promote Drupal Europe
Want to support but not prepared for a steady commitment? Please promote Drupal Europe on all occasions, for example at your local meetup. We have prepared a slide deck, you are welcome to use it. If you have questions about the slides, please contact people in the chat (see below).
There are still sponsor packages available. You could talk to your employer, customers, meetup about sponsoring Drupal Europe. No problem if you are not the first one to address them, sometimes it needs several approaches ;-) Download the sponsor brochure and spread the word.
Become an official volunteer
If you'd like to join the steady volunteer team we would like to ask you some questions first. Please use the Volunteer Questionnaire. Your answers help us find matching tasks for you.

Slack https://drupal.slack.com/messages/C70PEFHUK requires registration. This is the “open channel” with information for everybody. Ask for access to “the closed channel” or for a specific channel that might match the working group you are interested in.
Yes, we're aware that Slack is probably not the best choice for our shared communications. But, at the moment, that's where everybody is...
As an alternative, you can contact the #drupal-europe channel at Drupalchat.eu.
You will meet people who give you further directions and access to the tools we're working with. Happy to have you!

I am glad to be part of the DrupalEurope team, helping to organize the publishing / media vertical. This is in exiting times, times of crisis and promises at the same time. A chance that publishers start to think about cooperation, when it comes to technology, instead of having big players like Google, Facebook, Twitter, ebay, etc. shaping the landscape of technology for publishing and advertising. This is right where I want to be :)
Drupal core maintainer for the Out of the Box Initiative.
As Europeans are among the most active members in the Drupal community I look forward to a strong conference tailored to the interests of Europeans such as industry verticals and country specific case-studies.

But most of all, I love to work on Drupal projects with my Drupal colleagues.
I've been involved in the Drupal Community with the core mentoring group since 2013, and have rededicated myself to Drupal in the last year. Looking forward to working with the mentoring team again in Darmstadt to bring new contributors on board!
I would love to help with sightseeing at the weekend before and after the event :)
